Will the colors vary from the pictures online and the product I receive?

We strive to accurately represent the colors of our handmade rugs to the best of our ability. It's important to note that each handmade rug is unique, and subtle variations in color may occur due to the natural characteristics of the fibers used or variations in dye lots.

Due to monitor/screen settings, there can be variations in color between the actual product and the photos on our site, as each rug is handcrafted. Furthermore, depending on the lighting in which the rug is placed it may appear different. For high pile rugs, depending on which angle they are viewed from it can appear lighter/darker.

We recommend purchasing a sample size of the product you intend on purchasing if you are hesitant about the color match.

Should you encounter difficulty determining the ideal color for your home, we are more than willing to assist you. Feel free to contact us with the relevant details, and we will guide you in selecting the perfect rug to complement your home.

What’s the difference between hand made and machine made items?

All Soho & Nolita rugs are hand made by our skilled artisans, without using mechanical assistance you see in machine made items.

We attribute the distinctive nature of our rugs to the inherent natural variations that arise from the individualized weaving approach. In contrast, machine-made rugs may exhibit a more uniform appearance due to consistent stitching but lack the individual character found in our handmade creations. It's worth noting that machine-made rugs, while often more affordable due to quicker production, come with shorter lifespans, diminishing their overall value.

What’s the advantage of purchasing a natural fiber rug?

Natural fibers exhibit subtle and distinct variations, offering a lush, unique, and texture experience that surpasses what synthetic materials can provide. These fibers bestow upon your living space an opulent appearance and feel, rejuvenating any environment.

Choosing The Right Rug

Which pile height is best for my space?

With high-traffic areas, we recommend a low pile rug. For areas with low traffic, medium-high pile rugs are appropriate. Each product has the pile height in the details section for your convenience.

What size should I purchase?

This depends on a number of factors. If you’d like to have more coverage, go larger. If you’d like less coverage and want to show your flooring, go with a smaller size. Consider your furniture placement and how much coverage you are looking for. If you still can’t decide, our design experts are here to assist you in making the best choice.

How do I choose which rug is suitable for my area?

Always start with looking at which furniture you currently have. Choose a rug that complements the existing style of your furniture and the overall decor. If your furniture and decor are neutral, you might opt for a rug with a bold pattern to add visual interest. Conversely, if your furniture is more vibrant, a solid or subtly patterned rug might be a better fit.
